Umbrella Palm (Cyperus alternifolius)
Umbrella Palm is a very popular accent plant for the water garden. The foliage consists of long strap like leaves at the top of the stems forming the characteristic umbrella. This attractive plant grows quickly and requires little care. Winter over as a house plant in colder regions and divide in the spring.
Hardiness Zone: 8-11
Planting Container: We recommend a 2 gallon solid planting container or a medium planting bag.
Light Requirements: full sun to part shade
Height: 4' to 6' - Spread: 24" Wide
Water Depth: Moist soil or water up to 6" deep (Maximum water depth is for mature bog plants)
