Dwarf Umbrella Palm (Cyperus alternifolius 'gracilis')
This smaller variety of the umbrella palm plant that only grows to about 2' tall. Bright green parasols of narrow leaves top each stem. As with all the cyperus plants it is viviparous and will grow new plants from the junction of the leaf and stem. A nice addition for small water gardens or patio container gardens. Winters over easily as a houseplant in colder regions.
Hardiness Zone: 8-11
Planting Container: We recommend a 2 gallon solid planting container or a medium planting bag.
Light Requirements: full sun to part shade
Height: 1' to 2' - Spread: 12" Wide
Water Depth: Moist soil or water up to 4" deep (Maximum water depth is for mature bog plants)
