Product Overview

Rosette Water Lettuce (Pistia Rosette)

A compact variety of water lettuce pistia with a rosette shape. The velvety, ribbed leaves range in color from light green to blue green. Water lettuce prefers some shade in hotter climates and the leaves will yellow if in direct sun. A popular choice for pond owners who have water gardens that are located in shade or part shade. Rosette Water lettuce, like water hyacinth will compete with algae for nutrients and provide shade and coverage. The dangling, feathery white roots provide hiding places for baby fish. Large Koi do like to snack on the roots and foliage, so we advise placing the water lettuce in an area of the pond that is in-accessible to the fish. This floating pond plant needs water temperatures to be 65 degrees to flourish. Rosette Water Lettuce does not tolerate cold water or freezing temperatures. The leaves, when exposed to the cold will turn white and rot away.

Hardiness Zone: 9-11
Light Requirements: Full sun to part shade
Height: 4" -6"
Water Depth: Floating

They started to fall apart soon after getting them until they all eventually disintegrated. I won't be buying these again. Waste of money.

Healthy plants with a baby or two arrived quickly in great condition. These remind me of hens & chicks, and are great for keeping water clear.

My plants arrived in great condition. They have already started to multiply. I love the way Water Lettuce looks in my pond with Salvinia and they offer the honey bees a safe way to gather water.

These rosette water lettuce come looking exactly like this photo - just gorgeous. I have it in my small turtle pond with some salvinia and it looks great. I wish I would have tried to two together sooner! So far the water lettuce is very hardy. I love it!
