Product Overview

Golden Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea')

Golden Creeping Jenny is an excellent ground cover used in and around the rocks of your pond, streambed and waterfall. It fills the voids and gives your pond a more natural look. The rounded leaves along the stems form a dense chain of foliage. Looks magnificent cascading down a waterfall or tumbling over the edge of a container garden. Bright yellow flowers during the summer months. Full sun promotes bright yellow foliage while shade will promote a lime green color, but will burn in full sun in hot dry climates. Evergreen in mild climates.

Often sold as an aquarium plant!

Minimum of 3 plants.

Hardiness Zone: 4-10
Planting Container: We recommend a 10" x 6" fabric pot to grow a regular sized plant. Click on any fabric pot link to read about why fabric pots work better than hard plastic pots!
Light Requirements: full sun to shade; shade only in hot dry climates
Height: 1" - Spread: 12" to 18"
Water Depth: Moist Soil or water to 1" deep (Maximum water depth is for mature established plants)

Golden Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea') is restricted in MA - know your state laws.

FERTILIZING: For best health and growth, we recommend fertilizing regularly (unless using the plants in a plant filtration system!). Use Pondtabbs 20 count, 60 count, or 300 count for fast release, or Aquascape 6 count or 12 count capsules for slow release (once a year) fertilizing. Aquascape is preferred for low maintenance, but Pondtabbs are useful in Spring when Aquascape is slow to start in low temperatures. Pondtabbs are also useful for a quick extra nutrient push for extra bloom, and for mid-summer fertilizing of a new plant (we don't recommend using slow release fertilizer in mid-summer or later in cold climates, as plants should run out of fertilizer at the end of the year to encourage dormancy in cold climates).

Plants are shipped bare root or in starter pots, and will require planting upon arrival. For in depth planting and care instructions visit our Planting and Care Instructions for Shallow Water and Bog Plants.

    Water Fleas

Posted by Unknown on May 15th 2016

Jenny arrived looking limp but recovered quickly after following enclosed instructions. Oddly, they were covered with water fleas but once I have fish in the new pond that should be no problem. It has been overcast and rainy ever since they were place in pond so there has been no growth to report on as yet.

    looks good

When the plants came in I placed them in pond water and in my greenhouse for 3 days. I then placed them around my bog. And they seem to be sending out near roots. Looks like they will be taking off as the weather warms up.
