Product Overview

Water Snowball (Gymnocoronis spilanthoides)

Water Snowball is sold as a submerged plant. (stems rubber banded together), but it can be submerged, floated, or potted as a bog plant.

Grows well both submerged or above water level. This bushy, semi-tropical plant, has glossy deep green leaves. The many clusters of 1/2" white flowers are made up of tiny white filaments and bloom profusely summer through fall. The fragrant snowball blossoms are one of the best butterfly-attracting plants for the water garden. Monarch butterflies will cover the plants during their fall migration. A mature water snowball plant branches freely and will grow to 3 feet tall and wide, branching out on the water surface. Water snowball will grow in a wide range of growing conditions, from moist soil to using as a submerged plant.

    Lovely plants, water snowball

Posted by Deb Tessman on Jun 15th 2019

These nice starter plants came in great health. Roots were healthy and they are thriving in a nook in my waterfall. I love this plant for it attracts Monarchs like crazy when blooming. Couldn't find any at my local stores so took a chance on these. Very happy. Thanks for making my summer gardening that much more a pleasure.

Love these plants. Weighted them and placed five of them as a divider between the deep end and the shallow end of my pond. They took right off and are doing great.
