Description

Marsh Marigold (Caltha palustris)

Marsh Marigold is one of the first plants to bloom in the spring long, before other marginals come back to life. Bright yellow flowers with dark green glossy foliage welcomes water gardeners to a new pond season. This plant does well in full sun or partial shade. In cool climates it will grow spring through fall and possibly re-bloom during the season. In warmer areas it will wilt back when the summer is hot, but will begin growing again with the cooler weather in fall.

Hardiness Zone: 3-7
Planting Container: We recommend a 2 gallon solid planting container or a medium planting bag. Also does really well in a 10" floating planting container.
Light Requirements: full sun to part shade
Height: 12" - Spread: 12" - 18"
Water Depth: Moist Soil or water to 4" deep (Maximum water depth is for mature bog plants)

For planting instructions see our: Planting Instructions for Bog Plants Page.

Arrived looking beautiful and healthy! Kudos to you for such a great job packing/shipping !

I was hesitant to order because of the shipping charges even though the plant charges were very reasonable. I will ALWAYS order my pond plants from LilyBlooms in the future because they arrived looking like I just brought them home from the store. Ordered from other places who offered free shipping and the plants took a beating by the time they arrived.

The new plants seem to be holding up after shipping and planting. A few dark leaves but other than that it looks ok.

Unfortunately these plants had mostly yellow leaves and didn’t look healthy. I planted anyway and still looks bad.
