Variegated Water Celery (Oenanthe javanica 'Flamingo')

Variegated Water Celery has dainty foliage that is variegated pink, green and white, strongly variegated in Spring. Blooms with a a white lace like flower when mature. It is very winter hardy and can be planted in stream beds, the waterfall or in between rocks around the edge of the pond. Variegated water celery makes a great ground cover in wet areas and grows quickly, although not as quickly or as large as green water celery!

Hardiness Zone: 5-11
Planting Container: We recommend a 2 gallon solid planting container or a medium planting bag. Also does really well in a 10" floating planting container.
Light Requirements: full sun to part shade
Height: 6" to 10" - Spread: Running
Water Depth: Moist Soil or water to 2" deep (Maximum water depth is for mature bog plants)

    I received my order in a very timely manner. The plant was healthy, a nice size, and well packed, and is now happily sitting in my pond sheltering my minnows.

    Water Celery and Japanese snails

    When I ordered the water celery, I expected a tiny plant. I was shocked at how large the plant was that I received. It is doing its job very well, in my waterfall, filtering the water. I ordered Japanese snails for the first time. I ordered 10 and received 11. All were alive and after a few hours in the shallows of my pond, they took off for the deep water. I haven't seen them since but my water is much clearer this year..hmmm could it be the anachris, hornwort, water celery, and Japanese snails all together I received from Lilyblooms this year? I am happy and thinking about getting an additional 10 snails.
